KBR is seeking a Training and Operations Support Team Member who will be responsible for representing the Space Defense Characterization and Control System (SDCCS) at the Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC), located at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) in California. SDCCS is a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) analysis and visualization java-based software platform that focuses on robust space intelligence operations, data integration, visualizations, and automated data analytics.

The positions roles and function would include acting as the SDCCS operational Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of CSpOC training, products, visualizations, and briefings and providing SDCCS troubleshooting and incident resolution for CSpOC operations; performing SDCCS authoring and customizations for CSpOC operational needs including providing real-time configuration changes as well as enhancing exercise and mission rehearsal planning, execution, and after action reporting for SDCCS related activities; and representing SDCCS in internal and external operational integration meetings. Applicants must be self-motivated, team-oriented, able to adapt to dynamic environments, and work with personnel from other organizations and companies.

Positional Responsibilities:

Responsible for introducing, educating, growing, integrating, and promoting SDCCS from scratch to personnel from the CSpOC, a U.S.-led multinational space operational command and control center.

Train CSpOC space operators and other personnel to conduct orbital warfare analysis and understand SDA by conducting Resident Space Object (RSO) characterization and analysis of metric observations of Geosynchronous Orbit-based assets.

Present SDCCS capabilities to space crew operators, multinational partners, senior military leaders (e.g., Colonels, General Officers, SESs, etc.).

Create tailored training curriculum that meets CSpOC operational mission needs to support Desired Learning Objectives (DLOs), Enabling Learning Objectives (ELOs), etc.

Attend various coordination and planning meetings to understand, capture, and work to closure CSpOC SDCCS operational requirements.

Assist and support CSpOC with planning, coordination, briefing, and execution of training and exercises in support of theater and global space operations.

Plan and execute unclassified and/or classified SDCCS training courses to CSpOC military, government civilian, and contractor personnel across varying space backgrounds.

Coordinate with CSpOC elements and support organizations during planning and execution.

Monitor proper use and function of Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS).

Ensure that local training regulations and applicable safety standards are followed by the training unit.

Requirements:

Experience and understanding of space operations principles and fundamentals with focus on Orbital Warfare (OW), Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO), Orbital Mechanics, Orbital Analysis (OA), Space Surveillance Operations, and SDA.

Possess a basic knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities of U.S. and foreign space systems.

Proven experience in teaching within classroom environments, delivering instruction to adult learners across various methodologies such as Microsoft tools, On-The-Job-Training (OJT), simulators, and so forth.

Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, preferably in a technical, space-related or software-related field, with a focus on adult learning principles and diverse learning styles.

Proficiency in creating training materials using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adaptability to other emerging tool suites.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts effectively and facilitate interactive learning experiences.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing training-related challenges.

Self-motivation with a collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively independently and within a team environment.

Basic understanding of Information Technology (IT) support principles, particularly in administering software tools.

10 years of training and exercise support and/or space operations experience.

Bachelors Degree.

Must be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

Understanding of SDA tools such as COCO, COMBO, DA-ASAT, ISSP, TRIC, LAMOD, etc.

Experience with orbital analysis and/or SDA tools software applications such as STK, SPADOC, ATLAS, OSIRIS, CAVENET, C2BMCG, etc.

Experience as an orbital analyst or equivalent training and/or certifications.

Experience or certification in project management and/or operations support or management.

Active Top-Secret clearance.

Basic Compensation:

$130-160k

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Work Environment:

  • Location:Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
  • Travel Requirements:Approximately 10% travel required
  • Working Hours:Standard 40 hours per week

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
